The Jefferson Chapter of the National Honor Society

The Jefferson Central School chapter of the National Honor Society was established in the 1961-1962 school year with the first inductions being held in the Spring of 1962. The JCS Chapter has inducted approximately 300 students over the last 60 years.

The National Honor Society states on their website, "Today, it is estimated that more than one million students participate in NHS activities. NHS chapters are found in all 50 states, US Territories, Canada, and around the world. Chapter membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments, but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service."
